My name is Brandon, and I'm currently entering my freshman year in high school. Along with my sister, I created the Helping Stars Foundation. Growing up in a Chinese-Filipino American household, I've always had a great sense of community and hoped to give back as well. By selling Filipino-inspired DIY kits, we will donate 100% of the net proceeds towards different organizations that help underprivileged children in the Philippines as well as locally. Hi! My name is Chloe, and I'm currently a rising junior in high school. I'm half Filipino and half Chinese, and I am the face behind the Helping Stars Foundation. A Filipino parol is a traditional Christmas lantern that plays a big part in Filipino culture when the holidays come around. The term "parol" comes from the Spanish word "farol," meaning lantern or light. These lanterns are usually star-shaped and are made with colorful materials, and decorated with intricate designs.
