My name is Brandon, and I'm currently in my freshman year in high school. Along with my sister, I created the Helping Stars Foundation. Growing up in a Chinese-Filipino American household, I've always had a great sense of community and hoped to give back as well. By selling Filipino-inspired DIY kits, we will donate 100% of the net proceeds towards different organizations that help underprivileged children in the Philippines as well as locally. I hope you'll stick around and support!

Hi! My name is Chloe, and I'm currently a junior in high school. I'm half Filipino and half Chinese, and I am the face behind the Helping Stars Foundation. I hope to help children in the Philippines who are in need by donating 100% of our net proceeds from our DIY parol and jeepney kits to organizations supporting that cause. Feel free to message our Instagram with any questions!

A Filipino parol is a traditional Christmas lantern that plays a big part in Filipino culture when the holidays come around. The term "parol" comes from the Spanish word "farol," meaning lantern or light. These lanterns are usually star-shaped and are made with colorful materials, and decorated with intricate designs.

Traditional parol frames are constructed using bamboo sticks and pegs which are hot glued together. However, with our kit, you will receive a kid friendly laser-cut wooden star puzzle. Our pre-cut pieces are easier for little hands to put together as opposed to the traditional bamboo sticks.

The jeepney is an iconic mode of transportation in the Philippines, usually painted in vibrant colors and designs. Build your own jeepney with our DIY jeepney kit and use your creativity to design and paint our Helping Stars Foundation wooden jeepney puzzle!
